The UDID project is an initiative of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) which aims at establishing an integrated system for providing a Universal ID & Disability Certificates for PwDs to serve as a document for disability details and also as an ID card.

Features

  • Online availability of data: a centralized web application to provide details about the individual across the country.
  • Quick Assessment: fast process for calculating the percentage of disability by the hospitals/ Medical Board
  • Online renewal and updation of data by PwDs/ on their behalf.

UDID Card benefits

The UDID card provides a lot of benefits to a Person with Disability (PwD), some of them are as follows:

1). Persons with disability will no longer need to make, maintain & carry multiple copies of documents, as the UDID card will serve all the necessary details which can be decoded with the help of a reader.

2). The UDID card will serve as the document for identification & verification of the disabled persons.

3). The UDID card will also help in tracking the physical and financial progress of the beneficiary at all levels namely village level, block level, district level, state level and national level.

Persons with Disability

Locomotive disability-

  • Leprosy cured person
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Dwarfism (147 centimetres) or less;
  • Muscular dystrophy
  • Acid attack victims

Visual impairment—

  • Blindness
  • Low-vision

Hearing impairment—

  • Deaf – 70 DB hearing loss in both ears
  • Hard of hearing – 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in both ears;

Speech and language disability

Intellectual disability-

  • Specific learning disabilities
  • Autism spectrum disorder.

 Mental illness-

  • Chronic neurological conditions, such as—
  • Blood disorder—

Multiple Disabilities (more than one of the above specified disabilities)
